Wrapped Headband

A three season headband with a charming knit look texture. Wear this light weight slip on style design fall, winter or spring. The Wrapped Headband pairs perfectly with almost everything and looks stunning in any color. This pattern works up in about an hour and can be worn with the wrap to the side or centered over the forehead. It’s soft, snug and likely to become your new favorite accessory!

Size:
Teen/Adult – Fits head circumference 20-22 inches.

Stitch Knowledge: ch (chain), hdc (half double crochet), RibHDC (ribbed half double crochet), BLO (back loop only)

Worsted Weight Yarn
(RedHeart Soft Yarn for the sample.)
Size US I/9 (5.50mm) Hook
Scissors and Tapestry Needle

Guage: 13 hdc and 10 rows = 4 x 4 inches.

RibHDC: Yarn over, insert hook under the loop directly below the front loop of the stitch. Yarn over, pull through all 3 loops on the hook.

Teen/Adult

Note: Pattern is worked in rows; edges are seamed together to finish.

Starting out: Leaving a long end of yarn (about 12 inches), ch 63.

Row 1: Work hdc in 3rd ch from hook. Continue working hdc in each ch stitch across. (61)
Row 2: Ch 2 (not a counted stitch), turn. Work hdc in BLO of each stitch across. (61)
Row 3: Ch 2 (not a counted stitch), turn. Work RibHDC in each stitch across. (61)
Row 4: Ch 2 (not a counted stitch), turn. Work hdc in BLO of each stitch across. (61)
Row 5: Ch 2 (not a counted stitch), turn. Work RibHDC in each stitch across. (61)
Row 6: Ch 2 (not a counted stitch), turn. Work hdc in BLO of each stitch across. (61)

Fasten off leaving a long end of yarn (about 102 inches).

Note: Laying flat your finished piece will measure approximately 17 x 3.5 inches.

Finishing: Fold the headband in half and line up the edges. Thread the sort end of yarn onto your tapestry needle. Whip stitch the edges together. Wrap the short end of yarn around the seam of the headband, tie the two ends together and secure with a double knot. Wrap the long end of yarn around the seam of the headband. Continue wrapping, leave a long end of yarn to tie off (about 6 inches). Tie off by double knotting the two ends together. Weave in ends.
